If the recent past has shown European manufacturers anything, it would be that they have been too comfortable. Disruptions in the supply chain and rising costs of materials and parts as well as electricity combined with the increasing demands on sustainability have forced European manufacturers to approach their end-to-end production in a whole new way.
During this 90-minute episode, we will further explore some theoretical approaches that could help European manufacturers find more stability. We will discuss what a joint European sourcing initiative could look like, as well as gain insights into the future of the European energy market.

To tackle this issue, manufacturers have started looking at nearshoring options in and around Europe to not only decrease their dependency on suppliers in Asia, but also as an alternative that addresses the environmental and social aspects of sustainability.

Meanwhile, energy producers are constantly working to increase the amount of sustainable energy that they produce from sources such as solar and wind. It has however, shown to be an uphill battle and as such begs the question; what does the future energy market look like and how will it affect manufacturers?
In this session our speaker from RISE Research Institutes Sweden will share with us an outlook for the future.
